Trans Town Hall Call #1 - Overcoming Barriers to Trans Health Care

<img src="http://duzdonna.podOmatic.com/mymedia/thumb/1142750/0x0_1130899.jpg" alt="itunes pic" /><br />July 28, 2008 - Donna Rose:

Many transgender people face significant challenges when trying to access wellness benefits for care and procedures prescribed by their doctor. This can include access to pharmacy benefits, coverage for surgeries and other medical procedures, hair removal, and other treatment specific to their transgender care.

Two recent statements about the medical necessity of this care and these procedures will have a significant impact on being able to obtain these procedures, and to helping employers be able to justify updating medical insurance plans to cover them. This first Town-Hall Call will discuss both of these recent statements, provide some background, and provide guidance on how they can/should be used.

                Speakers/Agenda:

                1. Donna Rose: Intro
                2. Jamison Green: discusses recent WPATH statement
                3. Dr. Becky Allison: discusses recent AMA statements
